Out of town friends fear visits, Fri Sept. 18, 2008

Today is Friday September 18, 2008 Time:7:23

My Daughter's came to visit. They asked If their cars would be safe parked in front of my house. This never happened before. My friends from out of town do not want to visit me because they are afraid to come to Chicago. As bad as I want my family and friends to visit me I cannot tell them to come, because something might happen to them. When it gets dark all the adults are in the house, only kids are out in the street.I though we had a 10:o'clock curfew Law.

I do not leave my house very often because I am afraid some one might break in.

If I go out of town for a funeral, I get a House sitter. I had my front door kicked in while I was home. If I hear a gun shot I turn off all the lights and sit on the floor. I used to sit in my back yard during the summer and listen to music. I can't sit in my back yard any more. It's not the same. Living like this is like being in jail. People ask me all the time how do you live like that? I tell them I have no choice. I have no choice. I have no choice.

I found it surprising to know my friends that do not live in my community were shocked
to fine out. I live in a war zone. It's happening to me now. But it will filter down to you.

Thank You
Carmen

You know what is worse, the fact that I was downtown and got my car broken in to.
Ironically, whenever I come to visit you, I always bring my CD player, GPS system, and any other valuables in with me. But I go to visit my other cousin downtown, I left my valuables in the car and they broke my window and stole my GPS.
This comes to show you that you cannot escape the hood. They are destroying thier own neighborhoods, and it has expanded to everyone elses.
